CIS 278
This course looks at how large data systems are actually constructed and used in the "real world".
There are a lot of Theory and Design concepts discussed, and the lab component starts with everyone creating a MySQL database for a "client". As the course progresses, several company changes occur and this forces everyone to make modifications to their data system in order to adapt.
The last step of the lab is to build a "front end" (in Access), hiding the ribbons, the Navigation Panel, and writing a log in routine that displays different user menus based on different log in identities.
This class always results in groups being formed (this is encouraged from the first day), and the quality of the work is always impressive.
